Look after them and they'll last for years
What's covered on your security screens, how to register your Invisi-Gard warranty, and simple care for everything we install. Townsville's salty air makes the cleaning part matter more than most places.
Warranties at a glance

Invisi-Gard and Alu-Gard from Alspec's warranty terms, and Inspire from Ozroll's. For anything else we install, the warranty is on your quote and written into your warranty and care guide when we install.
What keeps the Invisi-Gard warranty valid
- Installed by a licensed Invisi-Gard dealer. That's us.
- Looked after as the care guide says. Regular cleaning with mains water is the big one. See below.
- Changes made by a licensed dealer only. Don't take the screens apart or have someone else alter them.
Register your Invisi-Gard warranty
Invisi-Gard has an online form to register your screens. Have a photo of your receipt ready, and keep the receipt somewhere safe, because you'll need proof of purchase and installation to make a claim.
If you ever notice a fault, let us know straight away. Invisi-Gard asks for claims within 30 days of finding the problem.

Salt is what wears screens out, so Invisi-Gard's care guide goes by how far you live from the ocean or a salty bay.

Plenty of Townsville is within 10 kilometres of the water. If you're not sure, clean more often rather than less.
How to do it
- Brush the screen gently with warm water and a little mild detergent, using a soft-bristled brush or mitt.
- Pay attention to the edges of the frame, where salt and dirt collect.
- Rinse well with mains water. Try not to flood the locks.
Don't use
- Strong detergents or abrasive cleaners
- Tank, bore or recycled water
- Oil or spray lubricants on the locks. Use graphite powder.
Bird and bat droppings are acidic, so clean them off as soon as you see them. The full cleaning guide
Blinds, shutters and outdoor blinds
Fabrics and finishes vary, so check the care instructions that came with your product first. These basics suit most of what we install.
Inside blinds and shutters
Dust regularly with a soft brush, a microfibre cloth or the brush on your vacuum. Check the care instructions before using water or any cleaner on fabric.
Outdoor blinds
Roll them up when strong winds are forecast, and every time in cyclone season. If a blind has been down in the rain, let it dry before rolling it up for long.
Tracks and channels
Keep the side channels of outdoor blinds and the tracks of roller shutters clear of leaves and dirt so they run smoothly.
Near the coast
Hose off salt and dust from outdoor products with fresh water now and then. Check the maker's care guide before using any cleaner.

Is the Invisi-Gard warranty transferable if I sell my house?
No. Invisi-Gard's warranty only covers the original purchaser and isn't transferable.
What can void a security screen warranty?
Invisi-Gard's warranty excludes damage from not following the care guide, alterations not made by a licensed Invisi-Gard dealer, taking the product apart, forced entry or abuse, and events like fire, floods and natural disasters.
How long is the Alu-Gard warranty?
Alspec gives Alu-Gard a 7-year warranty.
Can I fit a pet door to my security door?
You can, but with Invisi-Gard a pet door means the door is no longer classed as a security door. What to consider
